Alzheimer's Care

Alzheimer's is a progressive, degenerative disease that attacks the brain and results in impaired memory, thinking and behavior. Of the more than five million Americans who suffer from Alzheimer's, 70% live at home and are typically cared for by loved ones. Being the primary caregiver for a relative with dementia leaves little or no time for oneself. Home Companion Services is here to help. Our professionals receive training by the Alzheimer's Association on techniques and strategies to manage the activities of daily living. Research has shown that seniors with memory challenges do better in familiar surroundings with minimal environmental changes.

Respite

Taking on the role of caregiver often means putting your own needs aside. Respite care is the answer. When a business trip or family event takes you out of town, or you simply need a break for the day, Home Companion Services provides short-term practical assistance necessary to allow your loved one to stay home in their familiar surroundings. Whether it is hourly or live-in care you need, call HCS first. Respite care is a necessity, not a luxury. Sharing the care-giving responsibilities with Home Companion Services helps to reduce stress and restore balance.

"From the beginning to the end, my mother was always treated so well. Whenever I stopped by, I was impressed by the care and concern shown to her. It gave my sister and I great comfort to know that our mother was in such good hands. Thanks to the efforts of HCS, my mothers’ last few years were spend in comfort and, most importantly, she was able to stay in her home in which she had lived for over 60 years. Thank you again for everything." – Joseph L.

"We could not be happier and would recommend your company to anyone who is in need for quality care. My dad’s companion, Marilyn and the whole team at HCS provided his care, comfort and happiness. Thank you for making my dad’s last months on earth comfortable and serene." - The M Family

"Your sensitivity and extraordinary services provided care and companionship to my mother and enabled her to live with dignity and love. This was greatly appreciated by her as well as her entire family." - Robert B.

"Your ability to provide a companion on such short notice and the quality of your people is very impressive. I would especially like to mention Pat and Mary. Both were outstanding and went to heroic efforts to keep our mom safe, active and comfortable. Their care goes way beyond what was expected from a home companion."
- Steve O.

"Your Companion Donna was heaven sent and treated both my husband and I like family. She was very caring towards my husband Julius and went above and beyond to help in any way she could. She put our minds at ease while I was away." - Kathy & Julius A.

"We cannot thank HCS enough for the quality and reliable care that our father received. Dad was never one to allow outside help into the house, but he was comfortable with all those that served him including Becky, Ed, Trevor and Mary. We especially want to thank Susan Farrar for always being professional, available and sensitive to our ever changing needs. Susan stepped up and helped in any way she could and when Dad finally passed quietly in his own bed, at home, in peace, we could thank HCS for making his dream happen of passing on his own terms." - The K. Family
